PRP Treatments

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is a minimally invasive treatment that uses your blood platelets to combat the signs of aging by giving your face more youthful fullness and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

We withdraw a precise amount of blood (about two tablespoons) and insert into a vial which is then placed in a centrifuge. This machine will spin the vial fast enough to separate the blood components from the platelet concentrate.

After being separated, the platelets are utilized in various forms from achieving a more youthful appearance to stimulating collagen and elastin production. Platelets are well known for their role in assisting with the clotting of blood, but they also have other properties.  They contain hundreds of proteins, known as growth factors, that play a very large role in the healing of injuries.

PRP is plasma that has a greater concentration of platelets, and therefore growth factors, than normal blood, and laboratory studies have shown that these increased growth factors have the potential to improve healing and regeneration.

PRP plus microneedling is the process used to inject the platelets.

A microneedling pen uses a fractionated pattern of micro needles to drive the PRP into the dermal – epidermal junction (DEJ).
